At LitterSmart, your satisfaction—and your cat's—is our top priority. We stand behind the quality of the automated Litter-Robot products. This policy outlines how returns and refunds are handled, backed by the manufacturer's 90-Day In-Home Trial.
1. 90-Day In-Home Trial (Litter-Robot Units)
Eligibility: All new and reconditioned Litter-Robot units are covered by a 90-day money-back guarantee from the date of receipt. This trial ensures you and your cat are completely satisfied with the self-cleaning system.
Refund: If you or your cat are not satisfied, you may return the unit within 90 days for a refund of the purchase price. You only pay for return shipping.
2. Return Eligibility for Accessories and Bundled Items
Accessories: Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for accessories (e.g., Ramps, Fences, LitterTrap Mats) provided they are unused, unopened, and in their original packaging.
Non-Returnable Items (Due to Hygiene): For sanitary reasons, all sales are final (no returns or refunds) on opened consumables and used accessories, including:
- Cat litter (including GreatLitter®)
- Opened wipes or sprays (e.g., Cleaner Wipes, OdorTrap® Packs)
- Waste Drawer Liners (opened or used)
- Litter mats or traps showing signs of use.
Bundles: If returning a Litter-Robot unit purchased as part of a bundle, the refund will be adjusted to account for the value of any non-returnable or opened items kept by the customer.
3. Required Return Conditions & Cleaning Fee
Due to the nature of the product, all Litter-Robot units returned under the 90-day trial must be cleaned prior to shipping.
Cleaning Requirement: You must remove all litter from the globe and all waste from the drawer, and thoroughly wipe down the unit to remove dust, debris, and waste residue.
Cleaning Fee: Returned units received in an unclean condition will be subject to a $75 cleaning fee, which will be deducted from your final refund amount.
4. Return Shipping Process
Customer Responsibility: The customer is responsible for return shipping costs for trial returns.
Original Packaging: Units must be returned in the original box and packaging to ensure safe transit. If the original packaging is lost, you must use comparable shipping boxes and materials.
Optional Return Label: For your convenience, we can provide a prepaid FedEx return shipping label. The cost of this label (typically $60 - $75, depending on drop-off or pickup) will be deducted from your refund.
5. Damaged, Defective, or Warranty Claims
Arrival Damage: If your product arrives damaged or defective, please contact us immediately. We will arrange for a replacement or repair under warranty at no additional cost to you.
Warranty: All Litter-Robot units come with a WhiskerCare™ 1-Year Warranty included, with optional extended warranties available for purchase. Warranty claims are handled by our support team and cover mechanical/electrical issues.
6. Refund Process
Once the returned product is received and inspected (typically within 3-5 business days after delivery), your refund will be processed.
Refunds are issued back to your original payment method.
Please allow 5–7 business days for the refund to appear in your account after approval by our team.
